The Capitoline hill and Caravaggio
An elegant building on a wonderful hill, with Caravaggio works and Baroque music
The program:
- 9:00 You meet your guide at the hotel reception
- 9:30 You are at Piazza del Campidoglio, where the guide will tell us about the most famous stories of Rome which took place on the Capitoline hill. Then we will go to Terrazza Caffarelli, the Capitoline Museums' stylish terrace cafè, a memorable place with a fantastic view of the city. We will swoon over magical views of the city's domes and rooftops: from one side the Forum, from the other St Peter's dome, the Pantheon's roof, up to seeing some of the Appennine mountains.
The guide will lead you to Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, one of the most prestigious private art gallery in the heart of Baroque Rome. - At 11:00 am we will join a guided tour to experience the beauty of some of the most famous Caravaggio’s masterpieces with the charm of Baroque live musical performance in some halls of the Palace.
- The visit will end with a final concert performed with the instruments of Caravaggio’s time in the superb Sala del Trono (Throne Room).
This tour is available only on Saturday mornings.
