Chocolate tasting in Florence or at your location
Tuscany, and Florence in particular, had a very important role in the introduction and the spread of chocolate in Italy, and it was probably a Florentine , F. D’Antonio Carletti, who, in 1606, introduced it to the country. Chocolate used to be drunk in the form of a hot, creamy lkiquid , and the Medici family fell in love with this delicacy as soon as they tasted it.
Cosimo III got his personal scientist to create a special new blend, the recipe of which was guarded as a Medici “state secret”. This is the special Jasmine chocolate recipe, known as the “Granduke recipe”, that has been recreated by the Vestri family, and that you can taste with us.
The visit, offered in an exclusive manner, lasts around two hours, with the starting-time, and date, chosen by the participants. One of our experts will introduce you, in your own language, to the secrets of chocolate-production, and chocolate-tasting, and additionally introducing some pairings of food and wine. There is guided-tasting of various types of chocolate, accompanied with local bread, and an appropriate wine.
